Bridging the gapDo you live with a disability?
Chronic illness, recovering from an injury or surgery, cancer, heart attack, stroke, normal progression of aging, medication, declining physical stamina, stress, and your overall mental health are all possible health conditions that can limit the quality of your everyday SEX life unless you make a conscious decision to raise your level of “Sexability.”

Heighten Your Sensuality & Intimacy: Innovative Techniques for the LP Body

A resource manual used in conjunction with Dr. Marylou’s  sexuality workshops for Little People, was the first explicit 76 page resource covering techniques in sensuality and intimacy. Beautifully illustrated (by Irene Yuen) with creative comfortable & pleasurable positions that is suited to your range of mobility.

Please Note: This booklet was originally written and designed in 2004 to meet the conservative standards for a Little People of America (LPA) conference.

A comprehensive revision will soon be published to include the diverse range of topics dealing with dwarfism, disability, sexuality, and gender identity related to:
  • Living with a disability, chronic illness, or injury
  • Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender, Two Spirit, & Queer (LBGTTQ)
  • Surrogate Sex Partner Therapy
  • More explicit details of techniques and illustrated positions
  • Q & A from clients, parents, and professional clinicians.

PART 1 – Covers areas that heighten the sensual quality of your daily life and as an individual in general. When living your life passionately, you naturally project these traits to your intimate life and enhance your relationship with yourself and your partner.

  • What is Sensuality?
  • Attitude
  • Body Image
  • Body Language
  • Grooming

PART 2 – Deals with physical intimacy. It is important to note that intimacy does not always mean intercourse and orgasm. You can have a very passionate and erotic experience without intercourse and/or orgasm either alone or with your partner. Our limited range of mobility offers a wonderful opportunity to dialogue with your partner about what is pleasurable to each other and to discover new ways to give of giving pleasure. Ultimately, the real sensual experience is the heightened emotional connection and intimate bonding that you create with each other.

  • What is Intimacy?
  • The Art of Seduction & Romance
  • Online Dating/Long Distance Relationships
  • Kissing
  • Embracing, Caressing, and Non-Intercourse Sex
  • Oral Sex
  • Sexual Positions
  • Toys & Sensual Aids
  • Safe Sex References
  • Sex Talk
  • Resources

About this Booklet
This booklet is the first stage of a continuing study that encompasses extensive research, personal experiences and interviews with short statured individuals about sensuality and intimacy. I have met with many LPs of various dwarf types, male and female, single or married, short statured partners or average size. I want to thank everyone who participated; they were open, honest, candid and most important willing to share their intimate experiences and challenges with me. One married gentleman I interviewed said, “if I had this kind of dialogue and information when I was dating it would have saved me years of unnecessary anxiety.” Another woman shared, “my arms are very short, I have never been able to reach and touch my genital area and feel it with my hands. I felt shameful and embarrassed when I used other means to satisfy my sexual desires. I wondered how others in my situation dealt with this but was never comfortable to talk about it…”

It is my goal to bring forth the range of issues regarding sensuality and intimacy in workshops and future educational literature for short statured adults. We can all benefit by providing each other with much needed information to live a happier, healthier intimate life if this topic is discussed openly, explicitly, and responsibly.
